Abstract:
The location-independent and simultaneously inexpensive storage of electrical energy in the order of magnitude of the daily consumption of a city is still one of the key challenges of energy research. One possible solution could be the isentropic energy storages and in particular the Pumped Heat Energy Storage. In conjunction with the currently unused waste heat of the High Performance Computing Center at the University of Stuttgart, there is potential for future research projects and energy storage concepts.
