GAMES project kicks off
This January, HLRS will start a new collaborative research project for a new generation of energy efficient IT Service Centres. The GAMES project will deliver an innovative framework of methodologies, Open Source ICT tools and services and energy efficiency assessment metrics, for the holistic energy-aware design and operations of next generation IT Service Centres. Main expected outcome will be to increase energy efficiency of IT Service Centres and reduce their global carbon footprint significantly.
The project consortium is formed by ENG (Engineering Ingegneria Informatica), POLIMI (Politecnico di Milano), HLRS, UTC (Technical University of Cluj-Napoca), IBM ISRAEL - Science and Technology LTD, CHRISTMANN (Christmann Informationstechnik), ENERGOECO and ENELSì.
The project is sponsored by the European Commission under ICT-2009.6.3: ICT for energy efficiency.
