US Ambassador visits HLRS
On May 14th 2004 US Ambassador Daniel R. Coats visited the HLRS to get an overview of the state of the art in supercomputing and visualization in Germany. Ambassador Coats was welcome by the director of the HLRS, Michael Resch. After a short introduction to the center, its role and its research activities ambassador Coats was shown the computing facilities and the virtual reality laboratory of the HLRS. Together with his colleagues he spent an hour at the center and had some interesting discussions with the staff.
