International Supercomputing Conference 2010
May 31 – 02 June 2010, Hamburg, Germany
Celebrating the 25tj anniversary of the International Supercomputer Conference over 1800 HPC experts met at Hamburg. As every year HLRS was presenting its research acitivities at the ISC in Hamburg. At the HLRS Booth they could experience a ride in a Porsche 997 driving simulator. The HLRS further showed interactive 3D simulations of airflow in server rooms on the Microsoft booth and collaborative virtual environments together with KAUST. HLRS presented a prototype of its driving simulator as well as immersive visualization of simulations results on a stereoscopic projection equipped with a stereo projector by Digital Image and an optical tracking system by Art.
HLRS is Germany's first federal HPC Center providing researchers with HPC resources. With Porsche and T-Systems we provide supercomputers to industry and have recently established the Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart (ASCS) pooling researchers, automotive companies, hardware vendors and ISVs for precompetitive research in automotive simulation.
