HLRS Showcase at Supercomputing 2009
HLRS demonstrates application of High Performance Computing in Engineering, selected user projects and research results at the Supercomputing Conference
HLRS@Supercomputing 09 in Portland
Since many years, HLRS demonstrates its advances in applying recent technologies in HPC at the largest supercomputing conference by means of applications from the engineering field. Additionally research results from national and European Research Projects are presented.
This year, two Augmented Reality applications are shown: characteristics of the air flow around a Mini Cooper S and a BMW R1200GS using COVISE. They demonstrate how the visualization of simulation results can make engineering processes more efficient.
Further demonstrations present interactive simulation steering for optimization of a water power plants and tangible interfaces that support less IT oriented users such as architects in using complex 3D environments.

Furthermore, HLRS shows leading edge research results ranging from HPC applications and tools over its results in Grid computing such as BEinGrid, BREIN, HPC-Europa2 and DEISA .
