13th HLRS/hww Workshop on Scalable Global Parallel File System
The High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart, HLRS, and the Höchstleistungsrechner für Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft mbH, hww, are organizing the three-day
13th HLRS/hww Workshop on Scalable Global Parallel File Systems
HLRS is one of the three federal high performance computing centers in Germany and is a member of the Gauss Center for Supercomputing (GCS).
The workshop is to take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on
Monday - Wednesday, May 12 - 14, 2014.
This year's workshop will try and present the major issues and developments associated with the convergence of fabrics, protocols, systems and applications in the computing center, enabling a rich portfolio of distributed storage solutions. Focus this year is on "Self-managing Data" which means handling of future amounts of data in the most efficient and economic way by different collaborating storage systems depending on the data and its attributes but considering the boundary conditions of security, safety, performance, access methods, availability and other negotiated and confirmed service levels.
On Tuesday night, we plan for the usual joyful Reception and Dinner after visiting one of Stuttgart’s most interesting places. Admission to the workshop is free, as are the meals at the conference site. Depending on our overall sponsoring situation, we might need to ask for asmall cost contribution for the dinner invitation.
