Science Day 2012
Every year the university opens the doors to the public. On the 30th of June people had a chance to visit one of Europe's fastest supercomputers. An exhibition gave an overview of computer hardware development and how Stuttgart was involved in the technological progress.
The children were patient while standing in line to drive a Porsche and get their first driving license. Good luck that in virtual worlds pedestrians have short recreation times from serious harms.
On a rear projection system industrial and scientific applications were shown. Equipped with stereo glasses people managed to explore Virtual Reality by their own, to fly over the Black Forest, visit a space shuttle or play games with a virtual character.
The flow around a car gave an impression how real and virtual worlds can be mixed and how engineers can profit from these new technologies.
