Research Access to the National Supercomputers through Review Procedure

Procedure

Eligible are applications from publicly funded academic and research institutions in Germany that might have project partners from Europe. For European consortia the application procedure is via PRACE.

• Allocations free of costs for projects requiring 30 million core hours or more on Hermit by answering the "Call for Large-Scale Projects" of the Gauss Center for Supercomputing.
  (The current call has been closed on August 31^st, 2011
    the next call is expected to open in January 2012)
  
  
• Allocations free of costs for projects requesting less than 30 million core hours on Hermit or allocations on the NEC Nehalem Cluster after submission of a proposal and a review procedure through the HLRS Steering Committee.
  
  
• For testing before submitting a proposal one can get a test account.
