Eligible are applications from publicly funded academic and research institutions in Germany that might have project partners from Europe. For European consortia the application procedure is via PRACE.
- Allocations free of costs for projects requiring 30 million core hours or more on Hermit by answering the "Call for Large-Scale Projects" of the Gauss Center for Supercomputing.
(The current call has been closed on August 31st, 2011
the next call is expected to open in January 2012) - Allocations free of costs for projects requesting less than 30 million core hours on Hermit or allocations on the NEC Nehalem Cluster after submission of a proposal and a review procedure through the HLRS Steering Committee.
