Visionair (VISION Advanced Infrastructure for Research) calls for the creation of a European infrastructure for high level visualisation facilities that are open to research communities across Europe.
By integrating existing facilities across Europe, Visionair aims to create a world-class research infrastructure for conducting state-of-the-art research in visualization, thus significantly enhancing the attractiveness and visibility of the European Research Area. With over 20 members participating, Visionair offers facilities for virtual reality, scientific visualization, ultra high definition, augmented reality and virtual services. The groups current scientific challenges are focused on issues such as climate evolution, environmental risks, molecular biology, health, and energy. Visionair grants researchers from Europe to access to high level visualization facilities and resources through a Call for Project:
Physical access to high level platforms will be partially accessible (about 20% of global usage) to other scientists, free of charge, based on the excellence of the project.
Participating in the field of scientific visualization, HLRS offers access to the HLRS CAVE, the high-resolution tiled display and other visualization resources as well as support with COVISE development.
The AR visualization tools developed at HLRS provide essential advantages as they augment physical prototypes with visualized fluid flow variables for instance. Project funded by the European Commission under grant agreement 262044
