The Visualization Lab enables students as well as researchers at HLRS usage of state-of-the-art equipment for virtual and augmented reality. Including stereoskopic displays, tracking systems and cameras for instance, a number of workstations can be used for visualization and software development.
A Tiled-Display comprising 9 state-of-the-art professional 3D displays can be used for high-resolution visualization. With the dimension of 3.6 m x 2.0 m it has a resolution of 5760 x 3240 px. The large-size Tiled-Display encourages users to discuss their datasets with on-site colleagues. Furthermore, it is possible discuss results with worldwide partners in collaborative working environments while looking at the same data.
For the tracking of the viewer's head and hand we use an ART Trackpack optical tracking system.
If you are interested in using the CAVE to analyse your datasets, to bring your applications into the CAVE or have questions regarding the technical equipment, please contact Uwe Wössner.
