Some special devices are available as additional cluster components:
- IBM Cell (BW-Grid)
- Large memory server for pre- and postprocessing (NEC Nehalem Cluster)
- Nvidia GPGPU accelerator cards (NEC Nehalem Cluster)
The NEC SX-9 and the NEC Nehalem Cluster build a heterogenous computing platform which enables users to run applications utilizing different architectures within a single system.
