28 October 2010

The project ParMA - Parallel Programming for Multicore Architectures - wins the ITEA Achievement Award 2010 in Gold for outstanding contributions to the ITEA programme.

The objective of this three-year project is to fully exploit the power of multi-core architectures in order to deliver substantial performance improvements for conventional HPC (High Performance Computing) applications as well as for mainstream industrial applications.

HLRS contributions to ParMA include the MPI correctness checker Marmot and  an implementation of the Peruse MPI profiling interface for Open MPI. HLRS has also managed the tools work-package, and led the German sub-project financed by the BMBF.
