Completing the final step of a circulation procedure, the Minister of Science, Research, and the Arts in Baden-Württemberg, Ms. Theresia Bauer, has signed the administrative agreement for the funding of the next generation of supercomputing technologies. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael M. Resch, Director of HLRS, is pleased about the administrative basis for the upgrade of the current HPC installation at HLRS having been laid. The upgrade respectively replacement of the HLRS HPC system Hazel Hen is scheduled to start in 2017. The supercomputing infrastructure at HLRS is jointly funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) and the Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts in Baden-Württemberg.
