Overview

On clusters and distributed memory architectures, parallel programming with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) is the dominating programming model. This 3 days course teaches parallel programming with MPI starting from a beginners level. Hands-on sessions (in C and Fortran) will allow users to immediately test and understand the basic constructs of the Message Passing Interface (MPI).

This course is organized by the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), TU Wien in cooperation with HLRS. It is based on the HLRS MPI course. (Content Level: 70% for beginners, 30% advanced)

Note, an additional course on Shared memory parallelization with OpenMP takes place on the following two days at the same location, registration for both courses can be done on the same registration form.

Registration will start on March 06, 2019.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 10, 2019, with priority rules. Acceptance will be approved on April 11, 2019. As long as seats are available there will be an extended registration period without priority rules.

Priority for acceptance:
first - active users of the VSC systems, second - students and members of Austrian universities and public research institutes, third - other applicants.
