The HiDALGO2 project is proud to announce its EU Clustering Event, taking place on 4 November 2025 at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). The primary focus of the event, titled “HPC and Big Data Technologies Addressing Global Challenges”, will centre on innovative research regarding the application of high-performance computing to address pressing societal demands.
This high-level event will bring together leading researchers, industry experts, policymakers, SMEs, and students interested in relevant fields of work. The agenda will feature important keynote speeches, live demonstrations, expert panels, and networking opportunities.
Researchers from HiDALGO2 will showcase five real-world pilot cases of the project, illustrating how advanced simulations and AI-driven models operating on Europe’s most powerful supercomputers can assist in tackling significant environmental and energy challenges. The pilots cover: Urban Air Pollution, Urban Buildings, Wildfires, Renewable Energy Sources, and Material Transport in Water.
A panel of experts will then convene to address the challenges and opportunities related to the scaling of digital twin technologies, especially in the context of tackling cross-border issues. The final keynote, “What’s Next for HiDALGO2”, will set the stage for the project’s future direction and potential for collaborations.
With its dynamic programme, the day-long Clustering Event promises to be a vibrant forum for knowledge exchange, networking, and cross-sector collaboration. The event will also provide a unique opportunity for young researchers and students to engage directly with Europe’s top HPC research labs and initiatives.
The event is organised by Future Needs and the Hidalgo2 partners (PSNC, HLRS, ATOS, SZE, MeteoGrid, Cemosis, ICCS, FAU).
