With sponsorship from the Fürstenberg Forum, staff at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart ran in support of a local charity.

On Saturday, July 22, staff at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart laced up their running shoes to participate in the 11th Hand in Hand Spendenlauf, an annual fundraiser that benefits the Stuttgart Hospice for Children and Youth. Between 8am to 8pm  HLRS runners and walkers joined the event in Leinfelden-Echterdingen or participated virtually, tracking their kilometers with a cell phone app.

With 45 staff members participating, HLRS achieved seventh place in the team ranking, traveling the equivalent of 1,386 laps, or more than 554 kilometers. Two HLRS runners placed in the top 20 of individual men’s rankings, with Visualization Department team member Thomas Obst placing third among all participants with a total of 61.5 km.
