Dr.-Ing. Bastian Koller is Deputy Director of the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart, providing day-to-day management of the center's operations. He is also Head of the HLRS Division of Applications & Visualization.

Dr. Koller is the project coordinator for several EuroHPC and Horizon 2020 projects to build HPC expertise, promote new collaborations, and facilitate the integration of high-performance computing, AI, and data analytics technologies into industry, particularly as supercomputing moves to the exascale.

Koller has a degree in computer science, with a minor in chemistry, and a PhD in engineering.  His scientific interests include cloud computing, green computing, exascale computing, artificial intelligence, high-performance data analytics, and business models for high-performance computing and associated technologies.
