Dr. Kerem Kayabay

Deputy Head, Converged Computing

Dr. Kerem Kayabay is the Deputy Head of the Converged Computing Department at the High-Performance Computing Center of the University of Stuttgart (HLRS). As the Service Manager for Germany's Al Factory for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Research (HammerHAl), he is responsible for its successful adoption within manufacturing and engineering, fostering trust across these communities by focusing on user support and experience.

He received the bachelor's degree in computer science (2011) and master's in business administration (2014) from Bilkent University, Ankara, Türkiye, and a PhD in Information Systems from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Türkiye (2022). While pursuing his PhD in Information Systems at Middle East Technical University, Kayabay served as a research assistant, system administrator, and industrial academic advisor to TÜPRAS — Türkiye's largest industrial company by revenue. In 2017, he spent three months as a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge's Institute for Manufacturing, working on customer experience analytics for Perkins Engines. His publications have appeared in Technological Forecasting and Social Change, lEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, the Journal of Manufacturing Systems, Computer Standards & Interfaces, and IET Software.
