Dr. Prabal Singh Verma

Research Scientist, Performance Engineering and User Support

Dr. Prabal Singh Verma is a member of the HLRS Department of Numerical Methods and Libraries. His main task is to support HPC users by optimizing scientific codes for better performance on large computing systems like Hawk.

Before joining the HLRS, Dr. Singh worked as a high-level support team member at the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching.

After completing his PhD in physics at the Institute for Plasma Research, India, Dr. Verma worked as a Max-Planck Princeton postdoctoral fellow at TU Berlin and later as a CNRS researcher at Aix-Marseille University, France.

HPC, finite-volume schemes, particle-in-cell methods, MHD and nonlinear plasma waves are his main areas of interest.
